Overview

The Fluke Cal Molbloc-S® Sonic Nozzle Flow element is a high precision transfer standard intended for calibrating other transfer standards or process flow meters and controllers. This sonic nozzle calibration device is used with molbox1+ or molbox RFM™ terminals to extend the range of molbloc/molbox™ calibration systems and deliver superior accuracy at medium and high flows. Existing molbox1 terminals with version 4.0 embedded software or later and all molbox1+ terminals can be used with molbloc-S.

Features
- Covers ranges up to 5,000 slm in N2 and air
- Useable with molbox1+, or existing molbox1 and molbox RFM mass flow terminals and COMPASS software
- Proven critical flow venturi (sonic) nozzle operating principle supported by gravimetric calibration
- Minimal sensitivity to contamination
- Measurement uncertainty:
• to ±0.125% of reading with molbox1+
• ± 0.2 % of reading with molbox1
• ± 0.5 % of reading with molbox RFM
- Air, N2, Ar, He and other calibrations available, humid air density compensation supports use with ambient air

Major Applications
- Gas Flow calibration
- Calibration of compressed gas Flow meters

Technical Specifications
- Range: Dependent upon molbloc size and pressure calibration range (see molbloc-S Ranges table)
- Required Back Pressure Ratio: 0.4 to 0.9 depending on Reynolds number
- Calibration Gases: Standard: Dry air : Optional: N2 (to replace standard air calibration or in addition), Ar, H2, He, N2O. Consult factory regarding availability of availability of these gases for specific ranges, or for other gases
*Dry air calibration is required for humid air operation
